THE CONEJO VALLEY

The Conejo Valley is Southern California’s best-kept secret and the place I’m proud to call home. With it’s laid-back lifestyle and small-town feel the area is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, excellent schools, and is close to both city perks and beautiful nature spots.

The communities of Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks, Oak Park, Newbury Park, Lake Sherwood and Camarillo comprise Conejo Valley and each has its own charm and captures the magic of California living.

Westlake Village

Westlake Village, often called the Beverly Hills of the Conejo Valley, straddles the line between Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Known for its scenic beauty it blends suburban tranquility with upscale living. This charming village offers offers top-rated schools in the Las Virgenes and Conejo Valley school districts and incredible shopping and dining including The Promenade, Crawford's Social and the Moody Rooster. Agoura Hills

Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, Agoura Hills provides residents convenient commutes to Los Angeles and nearby beach destinations. This sanctuary for families features safe neighborhoods and the top-rated La Virgenes Unified school district. offers miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. Oak Park

Oak Park is the independent free spirit of the Conejo Valley. Spanning just over five miles, it's the smallest unincorporated community in Ventura County. Located on the north side of the 101 freeway and in the Simi Hills, Oak Park is a safe, vibrant, and family-friendly community. It is known for its award-winning Oak Park Unified public schools, abundant parks, and beautiful neighborhoods. Backing up to state protected land, the area offers fantastic hiking, biking, and horseback riding opportunities. This small, tight-knit community is conveniently located near Los Angeles and Ventura, with close proximity to Westlake Village and Agoura Hills. And with easy access to Malibu and Point Mugu State Beach, it offers the perfect blend of community spirit and California's natural beauty.

Thousand Oaks

Thousand Oaks, the second-largest city in Ventura County, is located in the heart of the Conejo Valley. Named for its abundant oak trees, it seamlessly blends suburban charm with urban sophistication. Backed by the scenic Santa Monica Mountains, the city has dedicated one-third of its land to green space. Consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in the nation, it is home to the top-rated Conejo Valley Unified school district. Thousand Oaks also has a thriving local economy including major employers such as Amgen, Teledyne Technologies and a luxury-focused Auto Mall. With a strong focus on cultural amenities, the city’s Civic Arts Plaza provides world-class entertainment with musicals, concerts, and children's shows. Additionally the city’s hospital, Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, has been recognized by US News & World Report as one of the best regional hospitals. Combining natural beauty and modern convenience, Thousand Oaks is an ideal place to call home.

Newbury Park

Newbury Park, a neighborhood in Thousand Oaks, is located in the western portion of the Conejo Valley and offers a laid-back lifestyle typical of the area. Dos Vientos Park is a local hub, featuring baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, and playgrounds. Residents are drawn to Newbury Park for its top-rated Conejo Valley Unified schools, safe and family-friendly environment, and stunning mountain views. he area provides convenient access to major highways and is near popular shopping centers like The Oaks Mall, excellent dining options such as Selvin’s Restaurant & Lounge, and historical sites like The Stagecoach Inn & Museum. Bordering the Santa Monica Mountains, Newbury Park offers a serene setting that many find well worth the distance from urban centers.

Lake Sherwood

With breathtaking views of the Santa Monica Mountains, the upscale neighborhood of Lake Sherwood overlooks the tranquil Lake Sherwood reservoir. Named after the legendary Sherwood Forest of Robin Hood fame, this community began as a retreat for Hollywood stars and some of the wealthiest individuals in the country. The area is almost entirely residential, comprising approximately 660 residences, including a guard-gated golf club community and lake-view homes along Lake Sherwood Drive. Served by the Conejo Valley Unified School District, most residents rely on neighboring Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, or Agoura Hills for commercial needs. With its blend of natural beauty, exclusive amenities, and rich history, Lake Sherwood is in a class by itself.

Camarillo

Camarillo is situated in the heart of Ventura County, just nine miles from the Pacific Ocean and midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Consistently ranked as one of the safest communities in the area, the city is named after its founding family of ranchers and steeped in small-town charm and rich agricultural history. This heritage is showcased in the Pleasant Valley Historical Society Museum and the Charles Honn Botanical Garden. Education is a priority in Camarillo, with the Pleasant Valley School District and California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) both located here.
